Sustainability and circular design
in office furniture

Forging a
sustainable future

At the Forma 5 Group, we are much more than a manufacturer of quality furniture. Thanks to circular design, we tackle the challenges of climate change, waste reduction and life cycle optimisation. Our vision goes beyond mere production; we aspire to create a world where economic efficiency, social progress and preservation of the alternative to natural resources are combined with social responsibility and respect for the environment.

Given the urgency of tackling these challenges, we commit to adopting business practices that promote the circular economy and maximise the life cycle of our products. From design to supply chain management, we integrate sustainability criteria at each stage.

What does this mean? It means that by working with Forma 5, you are opting for comprehensive solutions that not only satisfy your customers’ needs, but also contribute to social welfare and sustainable development. Our products are not only a conscious choice, but also an investment in a more sustainable future for all.

An action plan for
sustainable development

Discover the sustainable
characteristics of our products

  • Durability, ergonomics and strength

They are not only attractive, but also strong and functional products. They are long-lasting, with little need for replacements

  • End of product life

Sustainable design means thinking about the end of the product’s life from the outset. We are encouraging a circular approach thanks to the removal and recycling of our furniture at the end of its useful life

  • Local manufacturers and suppliers

We collaborate with local entities to reduce the carbon footprint of raw materials transport and to promote economic growth in our communities and contribute to social welfare.

  • Use of sustainable materials

We use renewable and recycled resources in our products and rely on fewer non-renewable resources, such as PET, Cura, Web Mesh and particle board.

  • Product maintenance

We help the customer to take care of and repair products to ensure they are in optimal condition for years and to minimise waste.

Our most sustainable products

Circular economy in the manufacturing process

We are trying to minimise our environmental impact and maximise efficiency in the production process. We implement measures such as energy consumption optimisation, efficient waste management and reduced water use. We also promote the assessment and renewal of our processes to align them with our long-term sustainable development objectives.

Product warranty: 5 years of use

We demonstrate our commitment to durability and quality by offering a 5-year product warranty. This warranty assures our customers that our furniture is designed to last and resist the passage of time, thus reducing the need for frequent replacements, encouraging repair and contributing to long-term sustainability.

Self-consumption from solar panels

One of our key initiatives is self-consumption from solar panels, where 30% of the energy used in our facilities is renewable energy. This increases our supply and makes responsible use of energy resources and thus contributes to the circular economy.

Reuse of materials in production

We will soon add the new Renewed Loop fabric by Gabriel to our catalogue, which is made from the scraps of other pre-consumer fabrics. This will allow us to reduce waste and give new life to that raw material. On the other hand, our fabrics such as Cura and Just will now be 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. We have also launched a new re-circularity system for the offcuts of the melamine particle boards we use. This has been achieved thanks to our collaboration with Finsa. These offcuts will be removed, crushed and pressed to become new melamine boards used again in our products.

Commitment to reducing emissions

At Forma 5, we have taken on the challenge of establishing science-based emission reduction targets, registering our commitment on the SBTi platform. After calculating the carbon footprint of all our companies, we commit to reducing GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, aligning ourselves with the aim of keeping the temperature increase below 1.5°C.
